Our boys' football team competed in the Cumann na mBunscol tournament on Friday last. 3 teams participated on the day; Scoil Mhuire - Swanlinbar, St. Mogue's N.S. - Currin and ourselves. There was stiff competition between the schools and the level of skill on display was excellent.
We drew our first match with Swanlinbar, but pipped Currin by a point. That set up a showdown with Swanlinbar, which we won by three points. Well done to all of the boys - they played their hearts out! We are now through to the final, which will take place after Halloween. Welcome to our six new Junior Infants; Amy, Callum, Jade, Nathan, Rebecca and Tommy.
They are really enjoying their new school! We wish them the best of luck for the years ahead! Congratulations to our 2nd Class; Connor, Aidan, Ellen-Rose, Reece & Liam who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday, 20th of May. We have planted a variety of vegetables in our new greenhouse. It was hot work, but we enjoyed the day out in the sun! A big thanks to Tony Byrne for his help with the greenhouse!
Congratulations to our quiz team of Darragh, Kelly, Eimear and Páidí. They took part in the Credit Union quiz. Their practice surely paid off, as they reached the All-Ireland final in the RDS! Well done!
For World Book Day, everyone dressed up as characters from their favourite books. There was a fantastic range of disguises on show, so much so that we couldn't recognise some of our pupils! As part of the 'Operation Transformation' 10 @ 10 event, we did 10 minutes of physical activity on the 10th of February at 10:00. We love to get active here in St. Patrick's, as you can see!
Congratulations to our 6th class pupils; Fergal, Luke, Patrick & Siobhán, who received their confirmation. Santa dropped into the school for a visit before he set off on Christmas. He brought us lovely treats and we sang some songs for him. He especially liked the Christmas Carols that we sang! He even fitted in a spot of dancing on his visit!
We held a carol service in the church for Christmas. The pupils dressed up, read passages and sung songs about the story of the first Christmas. The pupils performed excellently on the night - well done!
